[alfa] steering technique

I'm not sure if this technique of steering has been mentioned, but it was
taught to us students at a July 1997 AROSC driver's school at Willow
Springs. One instructor was John Ireland, and I can't recall the name of my
instructor, but he was a pro M3 racer, so who was I not to believe him. I
don't know if it has a common name:

* Keep hands at 9 and 3 on straights and on gentle curves.
* Before turn, move hands one at a time to position that will result in 9
and 3 in turn: For example, before a right turn, move right hand to 12 and
left hand to 6. Then during the turn (assuming the turn needs 1/4 turn of
steering wheel; vary as needed) the hands will be at 9 and 3, with lots of
twirl room if needed.
* Put hands back to 9 and 3 one at a time after turn.

This technique can get tricky in closely spaced tight esses and tight turns
that change radius to a large degree. For most normal turns, I find it
works well, and have used it many times during ARA track events.
