[alfa] Preparing for a new driving season

I started preparing for the new driving season since although Iowa
doesn't know it yet spring is right around the corner and this year I
intend to be driving my Spider rather looking wistfully at the summer
wishing my car was in drivable condition. Thankfully the rust repair
went very well if a bit longer than I had hoped. It beautiful and black
once again. I re-installed the battery and I was delighted to hear the
engine turning over and within 5 minutes of babying her, she was idling
nicely. Just had to share that, man I love my car. Some of you might
remember giving me advice about my trransmission, reverse kept popping
out, despite the finest advice to be found nothing has fixed it. So I'm
biting the bullet and having the transmission rebuilt. So my questions
are: 1. I'm investigating in lightening my gears (R,1,2) specifically.
Can only who has had it done give me an idea how much it might cost to
have this done at a competent machine shop. 2. What I was unsure of was
if I should put redline in case to begin with or should I use mineral oil
until the transmission has broken and then change to redline? That's it.
Thanks in advance. AJ Lindaman81 Spider
