Alfisti,
Brian should be reminded that the knurled knobs that release the tail light 
assembly are meant to be finger tight, and although they serve to provide a 
grounding connection to the lights themselves are particularly fragile and prone 
to stripping the stud right out of the plastic if you bear down too hard on 
them. Another place to set the ground would be a better solution.
