RE: [alfa] turbo Alfa's
George,
You spoke of undertaking other engine mods -- including forged pistons -- as
well as lowering the compression ratio. In this case, the forged pistons are
the best way of achieving the compression ratio you're looking for.
If you want to go a cheap route, swap your con rods with those from someone
who has a twinspark. The TS rods are 1mm shorter than the single spark 2
litre, so you'll have an 8:1 CR, and he'll have an 11:1 CR.
Alternatively, you can have a good machine shop rebush the small end of your
stock rods, and then drill the new bushes out offset by 1mm.
