[alfa] re: Stebro steel
For what it's worth, Stebro uses two different types of stainless steel
in manufacturing their exhaust systems. The muffler boxes and pipes are
made with a grade of stainless that will eventually show some surface
corrosion/discoloration, but won't rust away like a carbon steel piece.
The muffler tips (visible portion) are made from a polished higher grade
which doesn't discolor and maintains its shine. So unless you spend a
lot of time underneath your Alfa (who of us doesn't?), this is fine.
They use a less expensive, easier to work alloy where it's not visible,
and put the good stuff where cosmetics count. Suits me just fine.
