Subject: [alfa] Kerosene for engine flushing

My .02:

Unless you just have a very lightly varnished engine, (in which case
there's not much there to flush, so why bother) don't do it. If you have a
heavily sludged motor, the _last_ thing you want to do is break chunks of
it free and have them floating around the oiling system. Sludge usually
settles to the bottoms of things in Alfa engines and it pretty much stays
out of the way. As long as the sludge is stuck to an irrelevant surface, it
doesn't really matter. If you loosen it up and it all starts breaking free,
it's going to get into places it shouldn't be. IMHO, unless you're tearing
the engine down for a rebuild, in which you're free to make everything
sparkle, just live with it.
