my feeling about this is that there are a lot of things that can leak onto a V6
timing belt -- the oil pressure sender, the water pump, the cam shaft seals,
the hydraulic tensioner (i like the hydraulic tensioner, but always
refreshed the o-rings every time i did a timing belt)

i think the belts probably could go 50k miles if they could stay dry. good
