I read in a newspaper today that December 2003 is the 100th aniversary of
the first
recorded powered flight by the Wright brothers.  I have been trying to find
the exact
date, somewhere around now it seems.

BTW  Did you know the Wright Flyer used a fuel injected 8 HP engine?  By all
accounts it
was direct injection, and I thought this was a new technology!

Anyway, if anyone has the correct date for me I would be appreciative as I
intend to write
an article for the local newspaper with a connection to modern automobile
technology.
