carson,

i never seperate my middle and cat sections, but just
remove them as a unit from the car. it's a little
tricky to manipulate (i lay on my back and use my feet
to move the far end), but not particularly onerous.
alternatively, you can just loosen the manifold nuts
and let the exhaust sag down (might want to rest the
far end to avoid stressing the manifold studs too
much).
