[alfa] Re: Spider seat foam

Hi David:

The Veloce/Quad seats are very different from the Grad seats, in almost all respects. The former have large side bolsters on the bottoms and backs, and narrow center sections, along with a leg/thigh bolster that extends several inches beyond the main section of the seat bottom. I'm not sure how different the underlying structures are, as I've never had my Veloce seats apart, but the foam is clearly too different to be interchangeable. Of course, same goes for the upholstery.

Whichever seats you've got, try the overseas vendors, such as Highwood, Hurtienne, SpiderPoint, etc., or Re-Originals here in the US. There was a thread on the AlfaBB, maybe a month or so ago, that had pictures of Veloce/Quad seat upholstery from SpiderPoint. Both the appearance and price were impressive, and worth checking out.

Is it possible that the Veloce and Quad seats from '86 were somewhat
different from the Graduate seats? I know the seat cover pattern was
different, maybe this reflects a structural difference in the seat bottoms?
