The backup lights went out on my 3.0L. Fuse OK, bulbs OK, no warning lights
from the display; what else can I check? How do I get to the switch that
turns them on when I gear in reverse?

It's on the driver's side of the transaxle, in front of the brake and halfshaft. (The other thing with wires coming out of it, nearer to the front of the transaxle, is the speedo sending unit.)
