Re: [alfa] Lucky those in Oz...

Not only that, but the Classic Adelaide Rally is on its second day, with
various
Alfa's enjoying closed off roads in the Adelaide Hills.

Yesterday I took the camera to one of the starting points, and watched about
100
cars depart. Alfa content: 4 105 series, in various states of modification
with performance
in mind, a 1930's straight 8, 2 Alfa Montreals, one very original and
standard, the other
highly modified and very quick! A 1982 Alfetta Sportiva with nothing else
than Koni's
and stickers has been getting quite decent times too, as well as an Alfetta
GTV.

Non-Alfa content: The big ones for me were the old Le Mans cars. The Jaguar
C-type
was just unbelievable it, it was probably just as fast as the Ferrari 360
Stradale, i kid
you not. A Healy Le Mans car also managed some very quick times too, but I
simply
no nothing about this car, I've never seen it any any literature about Le
Mans. Perhaps
someone can elaborate? I guess you know a car is going to do something cool
when
the ground is shaking when its only idling :)

The 360 Stradale was very nice, as was the Testarossa. A 308 GTB was also
present,
but the driver should have been in a Festiva on a Sunday afternoon.

The Morgan Plus 8's certainly know how to cope under racing conditions too!

I'll put some pictures up as soon as I get them developed (still yet to own
a digital camera).
