[alfa] re: oxymoronic impact wrenches



Don, et al:  I prefer a pneumatic impact wrench when I have a choice, but
we have both at work and I use the electric more often because of
convenience.  If you're doing a very large nut or something that's
*really* stuck, the electric won't quite get it. Then again, Sometimes I
get them to budge with a socket wrench, then go the rest of the way with
the impact. I yust used the electric this way to dismantle the steering
and suspension on two rusty Berlinas, and it worked 99% of the time, but
it IS a bit more clunky than the air job... HTH
