Generally speaking, blue smoke from the exhaust under acceleration is rings.
Blue smoke from the exhaust during throttle-closed deceleration usually means
valve guides or seals. Black smoke is usually over-rich mixture. While smoke
means a coolant and a blown head gasket.

Best to have someone follow your car while you put it through various engine
accels and decels and note the quantity and color of smoke.

Further, it's a good idea to do a dry and wet compression test anytime you
think there may be something amiss in the engine.
