With the recent discusions about Silicone brake fluid, and ABS
problems.. I thought I'd
pass along some info I read in a book of Service Bulletins that I have.
(its a 400 pg collection of
bulletins from 77 thru 92, pub # 00608-97402)
It's mentioned that Silicone brake fluid use is not "authorized or
reccomened" for use in
any of the cars, and for the ABS cars there is an addional warning that
Silicone fluid has
"no" lubrication properties, and damage to the valves, pump, and MC
seals could occur.
Here's hoping this saves one or two of these increasingly rare systems...
Also, there are a few different procedures for properly bleeding and
priming the ABS systems,
pretty complex.. I can see why people have trouble with this!!
If you need info e-mail me and we could work something out..
