I've had success with Renovo Ultra Proofer. I ordered it from Caribou last year when he had the stuff on sale. Actually got it too!  You might try to google it, and see what other vendors offer it. It's made in the UK I believe. I works great though, you put it on with a paint brush and let it dry. There's enough for about 3 applications.  I guess it's been about a year and the water still beads up and runs off the top. It also contains a UV protector, which is the real reason I bought it. The only time the top gets wet is when I wash the car. On a side note, thier rear window plastic polish isn't that great. Better success with a micro mesh kit polish for aircraft acrylic windows.

Has anyone had any experience with treating a canvas top with any kind 
of scotch guard or other waterproofing? Any recomendations, warnings,
