[alfa] re: "Microsoft" virus AND Spider hesitation
Sorry for the off-topic, but I feel compelled to respond. For security
reasons, Microsoft does not on a blanket basis send out patches, or
fixes, by email. How would you be able to trust that the patch actually
came from Microsoft? Here is text from a Web page on Microsoft.com
specifically addressing the issue:
"An important key to safe computing is to never use software from unknown
sources.....
Microsoft never distributes software directly via e-mail
======================================================== "
For the interest of Alfa relevance, I'm stopping my post here &:-). I
encourage all of you who use Microsoft Windows to arm yourself with
knowledge and protect your PCs. Email me privately and I'll provide you
with URLs for your reference.
Here's my Alfa content!:
For some weeks now I've noticed my '87 Spider hesitates when getting into
first gear. It's not the plastic air intake -- that's the first thing I
checked (no cracks and it's on there tight). And my emissions test was
great! Any other ideas what it could be? It _seems_ to get worse with
cooler air temperature and when the engine is not properly warmed. If the
lambda sensor was not working well, wouldn't that have affected my
emissions? The only thing there is that I always do my emissions test on a
very nicely warmed up engine, so the behavior wouldn't be present then
anyway.... and I seem to recall it was at least 80 degrees that day. Now
when I leave for work it's more like 59 degrees ambient.
