The standard references show a much bigger difference than 100-200lbs,
more like 400lbs. I believe the Alfetta was produced using a lighter
gauge steel than the GTV6, and Joe Benson, at least, remarked on the
apparent difference in chassis flexibility between the two. I had one of
each at the same time for awhile, but the GTV6 was very much not stock
(hard bushings, lowered, huge sway bars, etc), whereas the Alfetta was,
so I can't really comment definitively on the difference stock v. stock.
Never bothered to get either of them weighed to see if the weight
difference really was that big.
Certainly, the Alfetta gets away with non-assisted steering much better
than the GTV6, and feels much lighter overall, but that can be just as
much a consequence of tires and castor settings as weight.
It says something that I sold the GTV6 and kept the Alfetta, however.
