Hi Dave:

From the symptoms you've described, it sounds like your voltage regulator might not be regulating so well. I'd check that first. ~13.6V is good just above idle, with ~14.4 volts above 3000 revs. If the voltage gets too high, the little bimetal strip in the flasher heats up too quickly, and you'll get speedy flashing. If voltage is too low, the effect on the flasher is the opposite.

The turn signals in my GTV are getting funky. They flash quickly when the
engine is at speed and flash slowly, if at all, at idle. Does the flasher
unit slowly go bad? I thought electrical compents either worked or didn't
work. Any thoughts?
