Well, I must have scraped some of your gear oil/dirt off the TA then. Did you ever clean it? :) I removed at least a pound or two of grease from it with a putty knife.

I've dealt with wheel bearings before, and this whine doesn't seem to fit those symptoms. The wheel bearings make the same noise on-throttle or off, clutch in or clutch out. This whine is definately there on throttle and disappears off-throttle at highway speeds. I'll investigate some more later today... the commute to work this morning was the first chance I got to put some real miles on it.
