[alfa] water accumulation under Spider psgr seat?

Ciao, tutti,

I defiantly left my 86 Spider Quad parked outdoors last night, as the weak 
remnants of Isabel passed over Pittsburgh, PA. It rained reasonably hard 
overnight, but not biblically so.

As I drove into the street this morning (slight dip at the end of the 
driveway), I noticed with shock that a *significant* puddle of water had 
accumulated overnight *under* the passenger seat. As the nose of the car 
dipped down at the driveway's end, the water came rushing forward to the 
footwell beneath the dash on the passenger's side. Probing with my fingers 
under the passenger seat reveals that the puddle is ca. 1-2 cm deep, localized 
at the lowest point of the seat pan.

I'm certain there wasn't anywhere near that quantity of water there when I 
parked the night before; no water came forward during a drive through a hilly 
area with many stops and starts the night before.

The question: where is the water coming from??

I noticed there was a bit of water visible inside the "gutter" that runs along 
the bottom of the convertible top. Might the drains for that gutter be 
clogged? I still can't see how the water reached the floor of the passenger 
side; the back "shelf" area behind the seats is quite dry, as is the carpeting 
on the sides of the area around the passenger seat.

I should add that I had the water drainage hoses that run behind the dash 
changed just 2 years ago, so I believe they are still good and unclogged.
