[alfa] Composite Body Panels & Bumpers

Alfa Ricambi used to sell fiberglass bumpers for Spiders.
I bought and installed one on my "74" Spider about 5 years ago
and am very happy with it as it is much lighter than the original
and improved driving characteristics considerably, not to mention
that it will not break apart due to corrosion again.

Unless client changes his mind, I'm planning on having a carbon fiber
front bumper made for a '79 Spider in a month or two. Then some time
down the road will have the rear bumper made.

To the best of my knowledge the same mold can be used to make either
fiberglass, carbon fiber, or clear carbon fiber (the latter being the
most expensive).

Can't help with any of the body panels. Perhaps some of the race guys
have had molds made for hood, trunk, and possibly doors (assuming rules
allow, doubt the latter since they'd just gut the internals and end up
with a pretty light door as is).

I strongly recommend you Don't use fiberglas to repair items such as
(and especially) rocker panels. Right from the factory these cars needed
all the body / frame strength (again - especially in the rocker panels)
they came with - and then some.

Let me know if you're interested in a front bumper. Won't be inexpensive
since it's not an aftermarket panel for a Honda which are made by the
thousands in China. Original panels will be less expensive than
aftermarket fiberglass ones. However, good luck in finding pristine
bumpers.
