[alfa] Re: Transaxle help -- cv joints

Frank,
There is a bowl shaped cap that fits over the outboard end of each CV joint. Use a screwdriver or punch and hammer to gently tap it loose. Once it is off press the cv joint as far down the axle as possible and clean the old grease off the end of the axle. The end of the axle has a circlip that keeps it from pulling out of the joint. Remove the circlip and you will be able to slide the axle out of the cv joint.

Subject: [alfa] Transaxle help

I removed the driver side rear axle/half-shaft to R&R the rubber boots that
are cracked. I have the axle on the bench and can not see how it comes
apart to replace the boots. Any suggestions here?
