Drive shaft vibrations

I posted a deal a while back about dragging a used driveshaft out of the attic
and curing my drive shaft vibrations.
Well, I took it a step farther. I had the offending drive shaft balanced and
found something intersting. When they balanced the offending rear section, it
checked good. I knew this couldn't be because I had just replaced it and
cured my vibration problem. So, they had me bring in both sections so they
could balance them as a unit. When they spun the unit, they found it out of
balance and rebalanced it for me. When I reinstalled it in the car, it was
smooth as silk!! No more shifter buzz, no more vibrating mirror and no more
buzzing seat!!
So, if you have driveshaft vibrations, have the entire shaft balanced as a
unit, mark it and keep it together as a unit. Two separtely balanced halves
hooked together sometimes do not get along with each other.
