Another interesting aside on an old thread.  The Alfa aircraft engines
thread elicited many responses concerning the use of the DB 601A inverted
V-12 engines built by Alfa under license and used in Macchi fighters.  The
same engine was built under license in Japan by Kawasaki.  It was used in
the Kawasaki Ki.61 Hien (Swallow).  The allies (in a less PC era) called
that plane the "Tony" because of its resemblance to the Italian Macchi
C.202.
