Spider gas door question

In #674 Andrew Watry asks: "Anyone know if the gas door assembly is the
same on the boat-tail spiders
and early Kamm-tail cars?"

I can see no difference.

"If not, how do you tell which is which, if the assembly is off a car?"

Put the red one back on the red boat-tail and the black one on the black
Kamm-Tail (at least in my case).
