seating 164 timing belt

 I've just recentlly put on my timing belt on my 164 and noticed that my belt has been inching it's way towards the engine block. In fact a mm of the belt is hanging off the edge of the overhead cam nearest to the block.  What I did was turn the crankshaft 4 revolutions by hand per the video.  Where should I place the belt initially?  I had put it smack in the middle of the overhead cam and was wondering if putting it on the opposite edge(near the fender) of the cam, the belt will eventually seat itself in the middle after turning the crankshaft by hand.  Okay, short question, what is seating a belt and how should it be done? I don't what the belt to work it's way off when I have the engine running. Thanks,DannyDallas, Texas
