RE: '79 Spider turns right strongly when braking

Check the bushings where the caster rod attaches to the upper control arm.
You'll find one of them is shot.

This is the arm that runs from the front of the car to the upper control
arm, where it attaches there is a replaceable bushing.

Jeff

Subject: '79 Spider turns right strongly when braking

My '79 Spider turns to the right strongly during braking. Brake calipers
have been cleaned on the front left side, brake hose on the left front has
been replaced, but the problem still remains, what are the options left to
cure this problem??? Brake cylinder? Shock absorbers?? The strange thing
is that the car turns left when driving backwards and braking......
Thanks,

Serge (Netherlands)
