'79 Spider turns right strongly when braking

My '79 Spider turns to the right strongly during braking. Brake calipers have been cleaned on the front left side, brake hose on the left front has been replaced, but the problem still remains, what are the options left to cure this problem??? Brake cylinder? Shock absorbers?? The strange thing is that the car turns left when driving backwards and braking......
