Re: Swing axles again



Not quite right.  The '65 Corvair rear suspension is a variant of the '63
Corvette . . . both designed by Zora A. Duntov.  Both had fixed-length half
shafts and lower control arms like the Jaguar, but with the hubs bolted
rigidly to trailing arms.  The Corvair used coil springs while the Corvette
used a transverse steel multi-leaf spring that has no other function except
as a spring.

The Fiberglass spring was not introduced until 1984.  Alfa has never used
composite suspension springs (Alfa content ;-).
