Re: Thermostat part number
Stefano,
I recently bought a thermostat for my 77 Alfetta GT from one of my (two)
local Alfa dealers. It's got the original Alfa P/N written on it but is not an OEM
Alfa part.
The P/N that's written on it is 11500.01064.00 and that's the same P/N as in
the Alfa parts book. I think Lino (of Alfa of Tacoma, the parts guy I bought
it from) doesn't *do* FIAT part numbers in his shop. :-)
The printing on the box is BEHR T (manufacturer), B31683101 (BEHR T P/N, I
believe), and "CC01573 247". It's printed with 'Made in Italy' on the box,
stamped 'Export' and has some application info ("Alfa 33 02/85 Taratura
Speciale" "1.3 - 1.5 - 4x4" "Daf Trucks" "Veicoli Industriali") on a sticker that
contains the P/N. Further, it has a small picture that looks like what you
described.
The other Alfa dealer in my area could find no FIAT number for the thermostat
and, therefore, wasn't able to help me. I remember AlfaBill trying *really*
hard a couple of years ago to find one for me and he couldn't. [Way above and
beyond Bill, I'm still indebted to you.]
I think that the Alfa OEM thermostat is 'unobtanium' through the dealers but
can be located through some of the dedicated Alfa and vendor places (like Lino
of Alfa of Tacoma, who once found me an NOS steering wheel for my 63 spider
when I broke the original one).
That's my experience w/ thermostats. At least I was more successful with a
thermostat than I was with the restrictor valve. :-(
