Codes help
The codes are four (4) digit codes and not two (2) digits. I assume, wrong
think to do, that the codes you are referring to are 1221, which is the air
flow meter, and 1224, which is the Lambda sensor or oxygen sensor in English.
There is information on both of these in the shop manual on how to test if
they are still good or not. The manual I believe says to change the oxygen
sensor at 60,000 miles, on my 91 Spider it went bad at 120,000, and yes up
until then it still passed emissions testing in Houston Texas.
I'm surprised that you didn't get a 1223, which is usually the results of an
air leak up-stream of the air flow meter. This is common after messing with
air filter housing of a crack in one of the hoses.
If you need more information email me off line and I can send you the pages
from the manual.
