10:1 compression, shop info in Mountain View-CA

I'm somewhat surprised no one has asked the obvious question: How much
was removed from the head? If it was skimmed around 10 thou and it was
the first time, I don't feel you'll have any problems with the 10:1
pistons. They are a much more modern design than the 10:4 pistons. Even
if the skimming is slightly more, careful ignition timing should solve
any pinging.

Centerline's catalog lists the 1600, 1750, 2000 heads' original
thickness as 4.410". Have your head measured, then make the decision.
(Do both ends of the head, the measurement is rarely the same on both
ends - then average).
