Hi Andy:

Others may have differing feelings, but I say to never bother rebuilding 
any hydraulic cylinder yourself.  If the inside surface isn't absolutely 
mirror smooth, which it won't be, the new seals will fail in short 
order.  I don't have too many qualms with pro's that hone or re-sleeve 
cylinders, although if the cylinder is available new, that's still my usual 
first choice.
