Unless you have a deep seated need to rebuild the slave cylinder, in my not
so educated opinion, you should just get a new slave cylinder and be done
with it. DiFatta Bros has them for $39. By the time you're done wrestling
with the snap rings that hold these buggers on you'll be happy to just
install the new one and be done with it. While you're down there add another
half hour (or more) of aggravation and replace the rubber hose too. The
neighbors got an unintended lesson in gutter Italian while I wrestled the
new rubber hose onto the metal line coming from the master cylinder.

Oh, and be sure that the bleed nipple is at the very top (12 o'clock) when
bleeding the clutch line or you'll go through a quart of fluid and still
have air in the system. (Go ahead, AMHIK)

Thanks to the guys who helped me identify the slave cylinder a few weeks
ago.  I've been looking in parts catalogues and see that I need to identify
the maker of my current slave cylinder in order to know what kit to buy.
The catalogue mentions ATE or Benditalia/Bonaldo.  The car is 79 Spider.
Does anyone know?  How can you tell??  Thanks.
