Re: Water In V6 Oil, BUT...

Hi,

This could either be a headgasket failure or a liner seal failure. But
most likely it is a liner seal failure since there is no oil in the
coolant. If it were a headgasket failure, the high pressure oil leaks
will most likely cause oil to go into the coolant.

A short term cure would be using "Alumaseal" powder (but be sure to
only add it to a warmed up engine). However some say it clogs the
radiator and heater core. It didn't do clog the radiator in my case.
But I did bypass the heater core so there is no chance of it clogging
the heater core. Remember, add it to a warm engine, and drive it around
for 30 mins or so.

In my case, I drained out the coolant with the "alumseal" after a few
days. The coolant level now seems to not drop after 2 weeks and there
is very little trace of goo on the oil cap.

Regards,

Zamani
