1974 GTV exhaust studs festivity

so i started hearing a loud exhaust tick this morning. parked the car,
waited for it to cool down a little, and checked the left side.

sure enough, the studs on the #4 exhaust port were MIA.

the good news is, i happened to have new copper head->manifold gaskets
and a couple of the correct type of studs on hand in supplies for the
Alfetta Sedan race car.

the bad news that the rearmost stud is almost completely inaccessible, and
isn't going in easily.

anybody got any tricks for getting this done?
