Re: Resurface Rotors?

Hi Leslie:

Here in the ultra-humidity of south Florida, the rotors on both my Spider's surely get more rusty than yours, if I let the cars sit for just a few weeks. The first application of the brakes cleans them up quickly, so don't worry about yours.

Subject: Resurface Rotors?

I bought some NOS Brembo OE replacement rotors on eBay for my Alfetta. One
of the rotors has some surface rust on the inside surface. I can remove most
of the rust with a Scotch-Brite pad but there seems to be some pitting that
is about the same depth as the crosshatching. Should I have the rotor
resurfaced?

I've read conflicting information on using aluminum oxide sandpaper on
rotors. Crocus cloth is not coarse enough.

Thanks for any help.
