that's an FIA reference; the SCCA GCR (which most folks in the US use as a
guideline) doesn't actually use the FIA standard for suits.
as it's a Sparco, it probably lacks a black-on-white SFI patch on the
shoulder.
the suit could be suitable for SCCA use under one of two possible
circumstances:
1) it is a three layer suit (pinch the material with your fingers and try
and feel all the layers). note that some italian made suits have three
layers of nomex and an outer layer of cotton. i know that one of (OMP,
Sparco) are made this way.
2) a one layer or two layer suit is suitable if nomex underwear is worn
underneath it.
i recommend using nomex underwear even when not required; not only does
it give you more protection, but also, if you own two sets of underwear,
you can spend day one sweating into one set of underwear, and day two
sweating into another set. putting on sweat soaked nomex for day two is
no fun at all.
