re: mothballs



Ooooooooh I wouldn't in good conscience recommend the use of mothballs as 
a deterrent. If I remember correctly, the primary ingredient is naphtha, 
which is highly carcinogenic (containing a benzene ring).

Anecdotally, my grandmother apparently used mothballs everywhere, in all 
seasons, to guard against wee pests in her home in New Mexico. Both she 
and my oldest aunt died in their 40s of leukemia, and I find that 
unusually coincidental.
