I have not read the SCCA Solo II rules this year. I am of the opinion
that the chassis stiffener would put an Alfa into modified class. I am
certain it is not legal in stock or street prepared. Since the prepared
classes are based on the SCCA race classes, the chassis stiffener is probably
not legal in prepared. I am sure it is not legal in any of the SCCA race
classes, except perhaps Super Production.
So that leaves the modified class, which is not a low cost place to
race.

On the question of the chassis stiffener in the AROC Competition Code,
it is not there. I do not consider it enough of a competition advantage to
add points for it. And apparently, those who were AROC Competition Chair
before me had similar thoughts. Or maybe no one has thought about it.
On that issue, I am always open to suggested changes and improvements
to the Competition Code. Please forward you thoughts. And proposed changes
have to be approved by the Board of Directors, but good ideas will get
approved.
