Subject: Plugging brake lines

Jon,

Not being a golfer, I have used rubber glove fingers
taped on the line and other methods that typically led
to a brake fluid bath. Finally I
bought a set of brake line plugs, both mail and female,
from http://www.alfastop.co.uk/ . Now I neatly screw
on a plug and stay relatively dry...

I've subsequently learned that the afformentioned plugs are available from the likes of AlfaStop and AutoZone, but when I was 16 and drove my GTV-6 500 miles (all in town) with no rear brakes, I made my own plug for the master cylinder outlet by packing JB Weld into a 2" length of cut-off brake line.
