Re: 164 center air diffusers/vents



Ross,

I've not done this and this info comes from the shop manual and related
experience.  The manual call for removing the instrument panel and
switchboard to get at the diffuser.  But this may not be necessary.

The diffuser is attached with two screws along the bottom and a lateral
screw on the side.   Remove the vertical trim piece between the transmission
tunnel and the vent  on the driver's side - this pops out with an up an dout
motion.  This will expose the two screw on the left of the switch control
that hold it in place.

This might give you the access to R/R the diffuse.  Worst case may be that
you acutually have to remove the instrument panel as the manual says.
