       I won't respond to your whole post.  I've not installed polyurethane 
bushings in the trailing arms or front suspension.  But I have used the 
polyurethane rear trunion arm bushing.  It adds to axle control without 
adding ride harshness.  Highly recommended in your case.
       I've got Koni Yellows with Ward & Dean springs.  Yes, ride is harsh.  
It's wise to follow spring manufacturer's recommendation for shocks.  If you 
go with Rugh, get his recommendation (here's the phone number I have on file 
for Dave - 503-621-3794 - I hope he doesn't mind giving it out).
       Chassis stiffener (available from Ereminas and IAP, perhaps other 
Digest Advertiser too - check around) will improve the "feel" of the Spider 
without adding ride harshness.  If you are worried about how straight your 
chassis is, take it to a frame shop and have them measure it on a jig - and 
stretch to match the stiffener.
