Re: mod questions
Scott,
I won't respond to your whole post. I've not installed polyurethane
bushings in the trailing arms or front suspension. But I have used the
polyurethane rear trunion arm bushing. It adds to axle control without
adding ride harshness. Highly recommended in your case.
I've got Koni Yellows with Ward & Dean springs. Yes, ride is harsh.
It's wise to follow spring manufacturer's recommendation for shocks. If you
go with Rugh, get his recommendation (here's the phone number I have on file
for Dave - 503-621-3794 - I hope he doesn't mind giving it out).
Chassis stiffener (available from Ereminas and IAP, perhaps other
Digest Advertiser too - check around) will improve the "feel" of the Spider
without adding ride harshness. If you are worried about how straight your
chassis is, take it to a frame shop and have them measure it on a jig - and
stretch to match the stiffener.
Cheers,
Charlie
