Milano Heater

Can anybody give me some guidance as to how easy it is to get to the heater
valve on a Milano?   I can follow the actuating cable to a spot near the
driver side footwell.  Can it then be accessed without removing the rest of
the car from around it?  They couldn't put it in the same easy to get to
spot as one in an Alfetta.
