Wheel bearings (GTV6)
The more elegant solution to the fine wheel bearing adjustment issue is to use the Mercedes type wheel bearing nut. It is kind of a horse shoe shaped nut with an allen headed set screw to lock it in
place. It allows for infinite adjustment. I don't know the model years, found mine in the junk yard on a 240D. There are a number of folks at GTV6.org who have switched to these and are very satisfied
with the ability to precisely adjust.. A search over there should uncover discussion and a few pictures. Pretty much a straight replacement, some (mine) have required very minor reshaping of the grease
cap with a ball peen for clearance, others have not needed to do that. I suspect there are a couple of styles of grease cap out there. Anyway, I adjust such that the washer can be moved and have had
excellent results despite extensive track time and hard (sticky tired) street use.
