Garage lighting
Greetings,
I stand corrected, as usual. At least I provoked some serious information on color temperature and its visual effects. Thanks to those poster's.
It's been 30 years since I was a professional lighting designer, both television and stage. That was when quartz halogen lighting was just coming into wide spread use. One of the advantages of quartz halogen lighting was that the color temperature of the bulb did not change over the life of the bulb. I have always been intrigued by the effect of lighting; you would be amazed at what you can do by hanging colored gels in front of a light instrument. But in my garage, the primary objective is to be able to see what I am doing; so the more light the better.
There is a wealth of information on lighting at www.grainger.com. You have to dig but it's there.
I figure that my memory has been losing about 100 degrees K per year. It's either the single malt or global warming.
Regards, Bart
