146 4-way flasher problem
Hi all,
I recently took my 146 1.7 16v ('95) for it's MOT which it failed on
non-working hazard warning flashers.
I'd previously checked the fuse, the relay and the switch and found them all
to be fine. The electrician at the MOT garage replaced the switch (at GBP60)
and helpfully told me that that didn't solve the problem. After a week he's
given up and suggested i take it to a AR main dealer as he feels the problem
is with the ECU. The problem has been around for approximately 6 months but
started off as an intermittent fault. My only thoughts are that it is a dry
solder joint in the connection to the ECU (or somewhere else??) hence the
intermittent nature of it. The turn signals still work. And, in fact, the
alarm still activates the 4-way flash when it is triggered.
I was just wondering if anyone had encountered a similar fault. Also I was
wondering if anyone knew of any workshop manuals or wiring diagrams for the
145/6.
Failing this i guess it's going to have to be a trip to the local AR dealer
(2 week waiting list...) for a technician to prod around at GBP100 an hour.
Regards
GRE
