re: What does this alternator fit?
Tad Bailey writes "I have a NOS Marchal alternator, Alfa part #1161005006008.
Which car did this fit? Does it come with the regulator attached?"
Slight discrepancy with the parts book (which could have a typo, but I would
doublecheck the part.) The last two digits - the 08 in this case -
differentiate the various makes of alternators. 1161005006001 should be
Paris-Rhone; 1161005006003 should be Bosch; 1161005006006 should be Marchal;
1161005006008 should be Bosch with voltage regulator incorporated. (This from
the USA Alfetta lists.) For the 105/115 cars through 1974 (in the Catalogo
rapido) 1161005006003 is also listed as Bosch, and 1161005006006 is also
listed as Marchal. I assume that the same four alternators probably cover the
several European 116 cars, at least in the earlier versions, and USA parts
houses suggest that a different alternator, shared with the GTV6 and Milano,
was used on the Spiders after 10/81.
