74 GTV starter problem

Hey cats,

What is going on when the starter keeps cranking when the key
is released? I may have asked this a year ago, but I don't remember
if anyone answered, and if they did, what they said.

It used to happen once every 6 months, or so. Now it happens 
every few days. I have to disconnect the battery to stop it. I've 
become pretty quick with a wrench seeing as I'm getting tired
of pulling out the battery and putting it on the charger.

If it's the starter, is it just the solenoid getting stuck? If so can it
be repaired, or is replacement of the whole starter the only way?
